It’s starting to feel like summer in south Florida, and that means flat water and beach kayaking.
On a recent weekday the water was clear enough for a great view of the wreck off the beach in Delray, but still not quite warm enough for me to jump in with a mask and snorkel. No matter, because I was able to get a photo without leaving the boat.
The Delray Wreck is what remains of the British steamer Inchulva after it was sunk by a hurricane in 1903. It’s a well-known snorkel and dive site about 150 yards off the shore at the south end of the municipal beach.
